About

My name is Lavinia Borhy, I'm Italian, even though I'm the great-granddaughter of a Hungarian and a Croatian. I grew up in Civitavecchia, a town on the west coast of Italy only 80 km North-West of Rome.

Since I was a baby I have always loved foreign languages and, above all, that  sense of strange one experiences when listening to other people speak without understanding what they say. This amazing feeling is what brought me to love and study foreign languages, making them my main interest, a good source of employment and one of my favourite hobbies.

When asked what I want to do "when I grow up", the answer is simple: I would like to be a lifelong learner, learn a new language each year, get to know its country, people and culture, experiencing the impact they have on me. Maybe it would be a stressing lifestyle, but it would definitely be  a good way to keep boredom away!

I started this blog in 2012, when I was about to graduate in Interpreting and Translation, of course! The blog was meant to be a significant part of our thesis defence, a mean to show our communication skills, as well as to make our own thesis available on the Internet.

What else could I say?! Follow me...
