Legacy

We went for a walk.

I played Cotton Fields for him to listen.

He told me 'bout a song Grampa liked.

He remembered half a line and that the song was dedicated to a certain Lucie.

I googled that half line and played the song.

It took a while before it got to those fee words he remembered, but by that time a smile appeared on his face, that is so familiar.

I felt in a glimpse a deep connection going beyond time and space. A connection to my dad, and from him to Grampa and through him, between us all.

We shared a moment, they shared another, but all these moments are connected, the present moment wouldn't have been, without the past ones.

And we had Rolly with us!
